Jaleel White is facing a ton of backlash for his comments about Black people and their opinions on “Family Matters.” White played the nerdy character, Steve Urkel, on the show and also explained how he became the face of Black nerd culture. White thinks that Black people are pushed into monoliths in Black entertainment that his character didn’t fit in, but what about the categorization of the non-threatening Black male?
