Atlanta Dream guard, Allisha Gray, made WNBA history this past weekend by winning both the 3-point contest and skills challenge at the WNBA All-Star Game.

After electrifying fans with her amazing performance, Gray won $5,150 from the WNBA and $110,000 from insurance company and WNBA sponsor Aflac. Aflac awarded the WNBA Starry 3-Point Contest and the Kia WNBA Skills Challenge $55,000 and $55,000 respectively, and Gray won both contests.

“It’s very cool. Now I’m glad I accepted the call when they asked me to play in both of them. Now I get another 55k in my pocket,” said Gray after her historic night.

“I felt like I was warmed up after the skills challenge, running all over the court,” she continued. “I was a little fatigued from the skills challenge, but I was locked in because I knew another 55k was on the line.”

By pocketing $110,000 in just one night, Gray made 62 % of her 2024 WNBA salary of $185,000.

The Atlanta Dream guard has been in the WNBA for eight years. After playing at UNC for two seasons, the first-team All-ACC guard transferred to South Carolina for one season before entering the WNBA Draft. In 2017, the Dallas Wings selected her with the fourth overall pick and she paid immediate dividends.

She won Rookie of the Year in 2017 and won a Gold medal in 3×3 basketball at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. In 2023, she was traded by the Wings to the Dream, and in her second season with the team, Gray is averaging 15.5 ppg, 4.1 rpg, and 2.5 assists per game.

Gray joins Becky Hammon and Sabrina Ionescu as the third player to win both events, but she is the first to win them both at the same All-Star game.
