Get set for an exciting art adventure this season!

This summer is all about celebrating the vibrant culture and creativity of Black artists from around the world and trust us, you won’t want to miss out on the incredible exhibitions happening.

At MoMA, you can immerse yourself in the powerful stories of LaToya Ruby Frazier. Her work shines a much-needed spotlight on the struggles and triumphs of the Black working class. It’s an eye-opening experience that will leave you inspired.

If you’re in Washington, D.C., head to the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian. They are honoring James Baldwin and celebrating the voices of the queer community.

These seven exhibitions are a true testament to the artistic mastery of Black creators. Don’t worry about missing out on the beach this summer. Take a dive into the world of Black excellence and creativity instead, and prepare to be amazed!

Latoya Ruby Frazier has been making significant contributions to the art world for more than two decades. Her work encompasses photography, text, moving images, and performance that brings to life forgotten narratives surrounding labor, gender and race during the post-industrial era.

This museum survey is the very first for Fraizer, which is exclusively dedicated to her body of work. It is available for viewing until September 7, 2024.
