From cutting hair in a relative’s basement to launching a product line available at stores nationwide, Houston White has shown that he is a top innovator in keeping things “fresh.” Fresh by Houston White offers customers o premium hair care, body care and skincare products. With products formulated for people of all races, genders, skin types and hair textures, White plans to be the force behind “desegregating the hair and skin care aisle.”

The entrepreneur knows the power that hair holds and opened an upscale barbershop in 2007. His first “Fresh” location was located in the Camdentown neighborhood of North Minneapolis and served as space for community building, authentic expression of self and inclusive celebration of Black culture.

After opening the barbershop, White started creating his own products which led to the formation of the Fresh hair and skin care line.

Customers can purchase products for the face which include a face scrub with hints of cucumber and a soothing lotion that features peppermint. The hair care items consist of a cleansing moisturizing Shampoo and a deep conditioner. There is also an array of pomades for customers with curly hair, wavy hair and straight hair. The Fresh product line even features products that can be applied to the whole body. If customers are in need of a boost, they can purchase the  “Get Up,” which is aimed at refreshing the body. However, those in need of something more soothing can pick up the “Get Down” wash and lotion which is expected to create a sensation of deep relaxation.

Products are crafted with ingredients such as soothing aloe oil, matcha tea, chamomile, tea tree oil, peppermint and more. For potential purchasers wondering how to get their hands on Fresh products, items can be bought online and in Target stores. The price point for the items ranges from $8.99 to $11.99. In addition to the hair and skincare line, Houston White also has a clothing brand that launched in Target stores last year. Pieces include hats, bags, graphic tees, joggers and more, with prices as low as $10 and as high as $50.
