With the start of the year, the video gaming industry has plenty of new releases lined up for gamers to enjoy.

Here are five upcoming games across all consoles to look forward to in 2023.

    1. Star Trek: Resurgence: Slated to be made available to the public in April after being pushed back, Star Trek: Resurgence is a collaboration made from the hard work of over 20 Telltale gaming developers. Set in 2380, the story follows two playable, third-person characters that work together to solve a mystery on the show’s U.S.S. Resolute. This video game is planned to be a stand-alone, with the plot panning over this one release. To play this game full of problem-solving and some combat, players can find it available for launch on the Xbox consoles, PlayStation and PC.

    1. Dead Space Remake: Now currently available with a free bonus copy of Dead Space 2 when pre-ordered, Dead Space Remake is the latest take on the popular sci-fi horror classic. Featuring visuals adapted for the best consoles available on the market today, the remake follows Isaac Clarke, an engineer who’s stuck aboard a ship known as the USG Ishimura after being asked to make some improvements. As the ship gets overrun by monsters known as Necromorphs, Clarke needs to rush to find the rest of his missing crew and save them from the dangers aboard. The video game will be available for release on the PS5, Xbox Series X and PC on Jan. 27.

    1. Final Fantasy XVI: Scheduled for release on June 22 of this year, Final Fantasy XVI follows the story of a young warrior that’s tasked with protecting his younger brother, who’s known as the “Dominant of the Phoenix, Eikon of Fire.” Given his own title of “First Shield of Rosaria,” Clive Rosfield is forced to deal with not only looking after his brother but also with fighting the Dark Eikon Ifrit.  While the game ultimately relies mostly on combat between Rosfield and his enemies, the developers of the game are now offering players the chance to focus simply on the story without much action between the characters through automatic movements. This game of comradery, struggles and perseverance will be available on the PS5.

    1. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor: Available on March 17,  the newest edition to the Star Wars video game collection will be available on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and the PC. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor continues the story of Cal Kestis, a Padawan who has just recently become a Jedi Knight. As he continues his fight against the Empire, the stress of being part of the Jedi Order also hangs heavily on Kestis’ shoulders. As the players navigate through the game as Cal, they’ll get to experience new Force abilities and lightsabers.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the sequel to Respawn’s critically-acclaimed Star Wars game, is set to be released in 2023. https://t.co/r72IiZ0hAg pic.twitter.com/wi1WU6RYIG

    1. Marvel’s Spider Man 2: Scheduled for a release later on in the year in the fall, Marvel’s Spider Man 2 was developed by Insomniac Games along with PlayStation and Marvel Games. The plot will be a continuation of the former releases as players follow both Peter Parker’s and Miles Morales’ fight against villains Kraven the Hunter and Venom. The game will be released exclusively on PlayStation 5.

    Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 swings to PS5 in fall 2023.
