Borrego Prefers His Teams to Play a Fast Pace
Borrego wants the Hornets to push the tempo this season. He installing a more wide-open offense that emphasizes quick ball movement and a high volume of three-point shots. Borrego is encouraging his guards to race the ball up the court off of opponent misses—regardless of which backcourt players is playing point guard.
“You should see an exciting brand of basketball,” Borrego said during his introductory press conference. “One that fits today’s NBA style and gives us the best chance to win moving forward.”
So far, Buzz City has followed through with Borrego’s promises. The team is currently fifth in three-pointers attempted per game and have improved their PACE factor from 98.4 to 100.9 this season.
