Campus police report that the patrol heard gunfire around 9:25 p.m. When they went to investigate, they discovered several shooting victims. All of the victims were aged between 18 and 22. They were rushed to hospital to be treated for their non-life-threatening injuries.
“We didn’t open the campus up until our SWAT team had cleared the building where the suspect may have ran, or where we thought the shot came from,” Worley said, adding that the police department believed the shooting had taken place outdoors.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are assisting with the response to the shooting.
“The repetition of these horrific events is about one thing: easy access to guns,” Bill Ferguson, a Democratic state legislator who represents Baltimore, wrote on X. “I cannot even fathom the feelings of parents who are fearing the safety of their children at Morgan tonight.”
I cannot even fathom the feelings of parents who are fearing the safety of their children at Morgan tonight. It's truly inconceivable, and there's nothing I could ever offer that realistically navigates that real pain.

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore said his office is monitoring the situation and is in touch with officials on campus.
“For those who decided to come onto this jewel of a campus, and inflict this pain and trauma on their community — we’re going to find you. We won’t stop,” said Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott at an early morning news conference.
There’s been a good number of alumni and current students speaking positively of Morgan in the midst of these events and that’s important! Our institution is a National Treasure for a reason. Share with us one thing you LOVE about @MorganStateU, please!
