The Weekend Entertainment Recap: December 12th

As the weekend kicked off, social media users were in an uproar following the release of a “new” R. Kelly album titled, “I Admit It.” Streaming platforms listed Sony’s information in the credits, however, it was later announced that the album was illegitimate. Attorneys for the infamous singer also came forward saying that the album was not authorized by Kelly. The 13-track album was only on streaming platforms for a few hours before it was removed from circulation.

Famed Miami rap star Uncle Luke and New York native Fat Joe also made headlines this weekend over claims on who discovered Trick Daddy and Pitbull. Fat Joe participated in an interview with Math Hoffa and noted that he mentioned both Trick Daddy and Pitbull to record executives. Both artists have received national recognition but rap veteran Uncle Luke interjected to stake his claims on discovering the two rappers. Uncle Luke and Fat Joe appeared on an Instagram live and cleared the air. The rappers acknowledged each other’s contributions and moved forward in the name of hip-hop.

While Uncle Luke and Fat Joe were making up, social media relationship guru “Derrick Jaxn” and his wife, Da’Naia Jackson, were breaking up. Blogger Tasha K released news of the relationship advisor allegedly engaging in extra-marital affairs with a woman at Art Basel in Miami. Shortly after Tasha K reported on the situation, Jaxn announced his s divorce from his wife. Jaxn seemed to express gratitude for the year she spent with his wife and also asked for privacy during this time in a social media post.

In the midst of all the chaos, Sean “Diddy” Combs now referred to as Love, announced the welcoming of a baby girl into the world. The news broke over the weekend but according to recent reporting by TMZ, the Love child was born back in October of the year. Specifics on the child and the mother are unknown but the announcement has left many wondering where City Girls’ “Yung Miami” stands on the situation. The rapper has been linked to Mr. Combs for months but has yet to directly address the announcement of baby Love. 

While Combs was welcoming life into the world, actress Mo’nique celebrated her 55th trip around the Sun! The actress was born in Woodlawn, Maryland on December 11, 1967z The actress has starred in productions including “The Parkers,” “Phat Girlz” and “Almost Christmas.” Part of her birthday festivities included a cake with chocolate frosting topped off with numbered candles.
