Stephen A. Smith is calling out Vice President Kamala Harris on her continued avoidance of interviews and press conferences since kicking off her whirlwind presidential campaign. In a recent episode of his eponymous YouTube show, Smith pointed out that despite being over three weeks into her campaign, Vice President Kamala Harris has engaged in very brief interactions with the media, often lasting just a few minutes.
“We’ve had one week, two weeks, three weeks and one day since Joe Biden stepped aside,” Smith stated. “The only damn place we’ve seen Kamala Harris is at pep rallies. What’s up? Somebody gotta say something and it can’t just be the conservatives. Right is right.”
“Somebody’s got to say something. And it can’t just be the conservatives. Right is right,” Smith conceded.
Despite his grievances, Smith clarifies that he is on team Harris.
“You’re running for the presidency of The United States of America. You got my vote. You’re running for the presidency of the United States of America. What you hiding for?” he went on.
Harris may be doing fewer interviews than former president Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, but her poll lead is already significant.
The Cook Political Report survey of seven key swing states found Harris leading Trump in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Arizona—with both candidates tying in Georgia. According to the poll, Nevada is the only battleground state that Trump still leads.
Smith says that if elected, Trump would likely embark on a “vengeance tour.” Trump has already admitted he would take his revenge against those who have taken a stand against him.
“I don’t want Donald Trump to win this election,” Smith said. “Strictly because he doesn’t know how to act. I’m fearful he will be on a vengeance tour. I think he’s somebody that would go about the business of picking people who are loyal to him, as opposed to who’s best for America.”
