Kevin-Prince Boateng
The Ghanaian soccer player took a stance against racism when he walked off the field while playing for AC Milan during a friendly match in 2013. In a game against Pro Patria, opposing fans began making racist chants towards Boateng. He responded by kicking the match ball into the stands and leaving the pitch. Boateng was soon followed by his Milan teammates and officials — leading to the game being called off.
“Shame these things still happen,” Boateng posted in a tweet with the hashtag “#stopracismforever.”
The Italian league where Pro Patria plays punished the club by making them play their next home game behind closed doors.
