Taurean Prince
You wouldn’t be judged if you paid no attention to the second half of the Hawks 2017-2018 season. Atlanta was already well on its way to a high draft pick in what turned out to be the team’s worst season in more than a decade. But Prince emerged as one of Atlanta’s few silver linings. He averaged 19 points after the all-star break, scoring more than 30 points on three separate occasions. He also made a deadly 41.3 percent of his three-pointers during that stretch.
The Hawks will likely be bottom-feeders again this season, but Prince will be worth watching. He’s an athletic wing with an expanding offensive repertoire and capable defensive skills. Former starting point guard Dennis Schroder played like a player who was disengaged for most of last year. With rookie Trae Young running the point, Prince could get even better looks in his third year.
