LSU forward and this year’s NCAA women’s basketball’s Most Outstanding Player, Angel Reese, refused to accept first lady Jill Biden’s apology after she suggested that the White House also invites the Iowa women’s basketball team along with the Louisiana State champions. Historically, only NCAA champions are invited to visit the White House. Jill Biden’s suggestion followed the media-driven and racially-stemmed controversy over Reese making the same competitive hand gesture as Iowa player, Caitlyn Clark. This instance showcases systemic racism, as Jill Biden (whether purposefully of not) micro-aggressed Angel Reese. Join Karen Hunter as she speaks on this and gives some insight on the situation.
