    Rooting for Everybody Black: Top Chef’s Black Culinary Stars: Where Are They Now?

    Top Chef, the renowned American television show, has showcased some of the most talented culinary artists from around the world. Over its 20 seasons, we’ve seen 40 Black chefs grace our screens and compete for the title of Top Chef. As Issa Rae famously said, “I’m rooting for everybody Black.” Our list includes links to the latest news and updates on these talented individuals. You’ll find information on their current restaurant ventures, television appearances, cooking classes, and more. Many of them continue to push boundaries and inspire future generations of chefs.

    Throughout the history of Top Chef, we’ve seen a diverse range of Black chefs make their mark on the culinary scene. They’ve opened award-winning restaurants, authored cookbooks, and appeared on other cooking shows to share their expertise.

    Some of these chefs have gained recognition for their innovative cooking techniques and unique fusion of flavors, while others have focused on bringing traditional Black cuisine to the forefront. As a result, they have not only contributed to the success of the show, but also inspired countless viewers and aspiring chefs.

    We recognize that our list may not be exhaustive, and there may be other Black chefs from Top Chef who deserve to be acknowledged. If you know of someone we’ve missed, please reach out to us!
