This week, singer SZA, actor Keke Palmer and conservationist Farwiza Farhan we all featured in the prestigious TIME100 Next list, recognizing the 100 emerging innovators and leaders from around the world.

The list, which is in its third year, lists the publication’s most influential people in the world, including several notable people of color. The tributes are penned by their celebrity peers.

SZA dons one of the covers and is hosted by international superstar, Lizzo, who shared some inspirational words about why the Grammy Award-winning singer made the cut.

“The authenticity in her craft—the way she’s able to tell her story and the way she uses melody—is extraordinary. No one can replicate that,” writes Lizzo. “When she’s onstage, she’s timeless. She’s someone who’s the real deal, and I think that she’s well on her way to being regarded as one of the greatest songwriters and singers of all time.”

Hip Hop legend Queen Latifah shared why Keke Palmer is one of the world’s most influential personalities.

“Keke Palmer is one of the most talented human beings I’ve ever met… Watching Keke evolve as a young woman has been a joy. She is the epitome of grace, poise, and honesty… Keke is the future, and I can’t wait to see the things that she will do as she continues on her journey.”

Michael B. Jordan shares their thoughts on Jonathan Majors, while Quinta Brunson lends their pen to Ayo Edebiri.

TIME editor-in-chief and CEO Edward Felsenthal explained why the list is so important: “Real change requires urgency and the determination to respond with speed to global challenges such as the climate crisis. The leaders featured on this year’s TIME100 Next list have demonstrated that spirit. They are shaping our world—and demanding we join them.

On October 25, TIME will host the second annual TIME100 Next event to celebrate the individuals spotlighted on the 2022 list at SECOND Floor in New York City. Keke Palmer will host the event, which will boast a special musical performance by SZA.
