George Floyd Told Officers, ‘Please Don’t Shoot Me… I Just Lost My Mom’

On day three of the Derek Chauvin trial for the killing of George Floyd, the bodycam footage of the other officers on the scene was played in court.

At one point, Floyd can be heard telling the officers, “Please don’t shoot me… I just lost my mom.”

The court has been shown footage from the body cameras belonging to Thomas Lane, J Alexander Kueng and Tou Thao. They could not play footage from Chauvin’s camera as it had fallen to the ground during his arrest of Floyd.

Floyd is then placed in handcuffs, telling them that he is not resisting them and insisting “will do anything you tell me to.”

Chauvin is heard saying, “We got to control this guy because he’s a sizable guy, and it looks like he is probably on something.”

Floyd also told the officer that he “didn’t know what was going on” and that he was “scared as f*ck.”

VIDEO: New surveillance video from inside Cup Foods on May 25, 2020 is being shown in the Derek Chauvin trial. Witness Christopher Martin, 19, described the layout.

Christopher Martin, an employee for the Cup Foods store when the incident happened, said he talked to Floyd and believed him to be under the influence.

He said he sold Floyd cigarettes despite knowing the $20 bill he was using was fake. He described Floyd as “friendly and approachable.”
Martin’s manager directed him to go out to Floyd’s car and try to get him to come back into the store twice. Floyd refused to return to the store and the police were called.

Christopher Martin, who worked at Cup Foods at the time of George Floyd's death, says his manager told him to go out to Floyd's vehicle a 2nd time to ask him to come back inside to discuss the $20 bill. The court then plays surveillance video of that happening. #DerekChauvinTrial pic.twitter.com/YaGioPO1Id

Martin shared that he felt “disbelief and guilt” because “if I’d have just not taken the bill, this could have been avoided.”

On Monday, during the prosecution’s opening statement, it was revealed that Chauvin actually knelt on Floyd’s neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds that Chauvin instead of the 8 minutes 46 seconds previously reported.

“You can believe your eyes that it’s a homicide,” prosecuting attorney Jerry Blackwell said. “You can believe your eyes.”
