The Williams Sisters advanced to the third round of the French Open today in double at Roland Garros. Venus and Serena Williams beat Sara Errani from Italy and Kirsten Flipkens from Belgium, in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.

This was the first time the American sisters have played in a major tournament together since 2016, when they won their 14th Grand Slam title in doubles at Wimbledon.

Serena Williams also advanced to the third round in singles in a comeback victory over 17th-seeded Australian Ashleigh Barty, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 yesterday. Venus was knocked out in the first round.
