Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee by Dee Brown

What happened to the Native peoples who inhabited what is now called The United States? We will never know because they were slaughtered. Their history was shared via word of mouth for centuries. But when those mouths were silenced, historians picked up the baton. Brown wrote more than 25 books on various topics, but this one was considered a classic. He chronicles the “displacement” of the Native Americans in America. This book was made into a movie in 2007 starring Aidan Quinn.
