Michael Hayes, a real estate investor, was inspecting a house he was under contract to buy in Memphis, TN when a woman next door came out to question his presence in “her neighborhood.” After a brief exchange where Hayes showed her his contract and signed documentation from the home’s owner, the woman called the police.

Hayes waited for the police to arrive because he didn’t trust that the woman would be truthful about the exchange. When the police assessed the situation, they told the woman if she called again she would be arrested.

“If you have any problems with her, what I want you to do is call me back over here,” a male officer told Hayes. “She will go to jail for that.”

“Hurry up, do it and get out!” the woman then said to Hayes.

“He can take all day,” the officer replied.

The officers, at Hayes’s request, stayed outside as he took photos of the home.

The altercation was captured on video, which Hayes posted on Youtube.
