In the new documentary “Stand,” former NBA star Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf describes his experience of the NBA exiling him after he made the decision not to stand during the playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” The incident was 20 years before NFL star Colin Kaepernick’s bold decision to take a knee in 2016.
