On Friday, June 2, a Black mother of four was fatally shot by her white neighbor. Ajike “AJ” Owens, 35, went to knock on her neighbor, Susan Louise Lorincz’, door after reportedly hearing of Lorincz throwing an object at her children and yelling racial slurs at them for playing outside.

Lorincz, 58, never opened the door. She instead shot Owens, leaving four children without their mother.
