A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll published on Tuesday showed that Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ lead over Republican candidate Donald Trump has fallen to just a single percentage point over the Republican, 44% to 43%, and many are laying blame at the feet of two media giants choosing to remain somewhat neutral.

The Los Angeles Times and Washington Post faced backlash after declining to endorse in the presidential race. Billionaire Post owner Jeff Bezos defended his decision, saying that he believes endorsements “create a perception of bias. A perception of non-independence,” but this did not stop more than 200,000 reader subscription cancellations.

The Times’ owner, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, simply stated that he trusted readers to pick the best candidate. The Times reportedly lost more than 7,000 loyal subscribers.

In this clip, Karen Hunter discusses why the results are so tight this close to Election Day. Why are they refusing to endorse?
