White Teeth by Zadie Smith

This is a book that has to be read slowly and with a group where it can be discussed. There is so much here to unpack. It is the debut novel of British writer Zadie Smith and it looks at Britain’s relationships with people from Africa, Asia and the Caribbean—its former colonies. Time magazine included White Teeth on its list of the 100 Best English-language Novels from 1923 to 2005.
