Alexis Carter is a prosecuting attorney for the ninth district of Florida, which encompasses parts of Orange, Osceola and Polk Counties. He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida, undergrad-and Florida A & M Law School.

After finishing law school, he became an adjunct professor at Seminole State College, then known as Seminole Community College, where he taught the notorious George Zimmerman in one of his criminal justice courses. Carter has also taught at FAMU law school and serves in the military reserves as a JAG. I was able to sit and have a conversation with Alexis, a personal friend of mine, about his time teaching Zimmerman, Casey Anthony, politics and what’s next for him.
