We are in the middle of the National Week of Action in Support of Black Migrants. Several events in cities around the U.S. started on Oct. 11 and will last until Oct.17.  Everyone is invited during this time to help shine a light on Black migrant issues.

The Demands are clear:

  • End Title 42
  • Stop the Deportations to Haiti
  • Pass Immigration Reform that includes Black Migrants Relief
  • Reforms to the Bond System
  • Address the Establish a Meaningful Opportunity to Return Home for Those Unjustly Deported
  • Address the Criminal Legal to Immigration Pipeline
  • Include Immigrants in Criminal Justice Reforms

TheHub.News has covered many issues in the previous article. Please review the archive.

Black immigrants are disproportionately affected by immigration enforcement, yet mainstream media and policymakers believe that immigration is a Latino/Latinx issue rather than a Black issue, thus erasing Black immigrants.

A significant number of Black LGBTQ+ migrants end up homeless or trapped in the underground economy due to homophobia and transphobia, which are layered with anti-Black racism, resulting in interactions with the police that result in being arrested, detained and deported.

Black Immigrants should not be left out of the conversation of immigration reform and immigration justice.
